Remembering the Fallen
Firefighters and several law enforcement representatives gather at the Yakima Convention Center this morning to honor those who died during the September 11th attacks.
Participants took a moment of silence and prayer for those who perished 12 years ago.
Many members from the extended law enforcement community also took part in the ceremony, including deputies and troopers from the sheriff's office and Washington State Patrol.
"I think we're very proud of what we do and the people that gave their lives," said Battalion Chief Tom Sevigny, "It's very difficult knowing that it's just not their lives that were affected, but their families, their loved ones, their co-workers. That's something we will never forget."
Ceremony organizers hope to get more members of the community involved next year.
