Kennewick House Fire
A Kennewick home catches fire last night leaving one woman to pick up the pieces, but she is alive, thanks to a very special friend.
Maricilla Roger was watching television in her living room at around 9:30 pm. last night when her dog, Baby Girl, started barking, warning her the back of the house had caught fire..
Roger and her dog immediately evacuated to the front of the house on the 400 block on 1st Ave.
Next door neighbors used hoses and buckets of water to keep the flames from spreading to nearby businesses.
Roger is working with the Benton-Franklin chapter of the American Red Cross to find temporary housing for her and her dog.
For now, she is staying at a motel and the dog is staying with a neighbor
There is still no word on what casued the fire and Kenewick Fire Marshal Mark Yaden says the fire department is not ruling anything out.
