Umatilla Co. commissioners limit number of public entrances at courthouse

Umatilla County commissioners decide to limit the number of public entrances at the county courthouse in Pendleton.

There are 11 doorways to get into the courthouse from outside, but in an effort to improve security and safety, commissioners voted 3-0 to keep all of them locked except four.

All seven of the now-locked entrances are in the back of the building next to the parking lot.

The four remaining entrances are on other sides of the building - three of those are main entrances with double doors.
