Murder Trial for Richland Teen Will Start Next Week
The trial for a Richland teen accused of killing 17-year-old Joshua Snapp last summer will begin next week.
19-year-old John Young was in court this morning for his evidentiary hearing.
Prosecuting Attorney Andy Miller made it clear to the defense that if it wishes to remove anything from the video recorded interview with Young following the July 4th murder to do so before the trial.
Young is charged with 1st-degree murder for the shooting death of Snapp in the desert near Horn Rapids in Richland last year.
Another teen, 19-year-old Josh Hunt has been convicted of 2nd-degree murder for shooting and killing Snapp; he was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Jury selection on Young's trial will begin Monday morning and opening statements are expected to begin Wednesday.
