Benton County Fairgrounds Is All Smiles During the Rascal Rodeo

More than 70 participants with mental and physical disabilities and 100 volunteers were all smiles at the rodeo arena at the Benton County Fairgrounds during the Rascal Rodeo.

This rodeo offers participants a chance to be a cowboy or cowgirl for a day, something they normally aren't able to do.

Participants rode real horses, roped calves, went on pony cart rides, milked fake cows and practiced their barrel racing.

While riding horses the special needs participants practiced their best "yehaw!" while being cheered on by their friends, family and volunteers.

The atmosphere of fun and happiness was contagious. Parents say they are thankful for the opportunity to bring their kids to the rodeo.

The Rascal Rodeo is tentatively planning another event in Kennewick for sometime in August.
