Richland Planning Commision Votes on Proposed Subdivision

Following about 90 minutes of questions and discussions, the Richland Planning Commission votes 4 to 2 last night to recommend necessary zoning changes for the proposed Clearwater Creek subdivision to the city council.

However, the vote does not represent an official recommendation to the council because only six of the 9 planning commission members were present -- a majority of five is required for that recommendation to be official.

The city council will make the final call on the proposal, which has met some opposition because it's near the Amon Creek Natural Preserve.

If approved, the subdivision will include more than 300 residential lots, more than 10 acres for a future school and more than 30 acres of open space.
