800MHz System To Be Installed in Franklin Co. Dispatch Center
The Franklin County Dispatch Center will be installing an 800 megahertz system.
This comes after the Tri-Cities' Fraternal Order of Police made a request that all local governmental agencies work together on the same system.
Today, Pasco agreed to pay the projected $5,000 cost for the Franklin County side, with Sheriff Richard Lathim approving the request.
The Tri-Cities' Fraternal Order of Police demanded an 800 megahertz system following the July 9th standoff in Pasco during which responding officers from neighboring agencies were hampered by the radio systems because they couldn't communicate with each other.
One Kennewick Police commander was nearly shot in the crossfire because of the miscommunication.
