Witnesses called in Hunt Case

Defense attorneys for a Richland teen accused of killing a 17 year old on July 4th want the judge presiding over the case to recuse herself.

Joshua Hunt is charged with first degree murder in the killing of Joshua Snapp.

During testimony at an evidentiary hearing today, Judge Carrie Runge learned that her stepson, Detective Scott Runge, has been involved in the investigation of the case.

The judge said this came as a surprise to her because his name had never come up before. The defense claims the judge's connection to a detetcive with any involvement in this case to be a conflict.

Judge Runge looked over several documents and said because detective runge's involvement is very minimal, she doesn't find it necessary to recuse herself.

The hearing will be continued this Friday to further discuss this issue.

As of now, Hunt's trial is scheduled for February 10th.
