Fundraiser in Pasco Helps Local Familes
A fundraiser on Sunday marks the 50th anniversary for a local charity.
Lutheran Community Services held it's annual live and silent auction at the Red Lion in Pasco.
Their programs help families at risk connect to resources in order to keep children at home who otherwise may be institutionalized.
This year's keynote speaker was Chris Agner, mother of two adopted chidren who almost lost her son because of behavioral problems.
She now volunteers to help keep other families together.
"I'm so grateful to have to opportunity to try to tell these wonderful people what a difference they are making in people's lives. So many children and families who have been in this program are together still because of this program."
Lutheran Community Services also provides training and support for foster families.
They estimate they have touched the lives of one in ten families in the region.
