Pendleton Grain Growers (PGG) to no longer operate retail stores
Pendleton Grain Growers Inc. (PGG), with six locations in Eastern Oregon, will no longer operate retail stores as the member-owned co-op restructures business and looks at ways to cut costs.
PGG says restructuring will include exit strategies for the AG Supply Retail Division and the Pendleton Automotive Service Center.
PGG has six stores, located in Pendleton, Hermiston, Athena, Milton-Freewater, Island City and Joseph.
Spokeswoman Maddee Moore says the goal is to find a buyer in the next 4 to 6 months that will keep these businesses going in the communities. During that time, none of the stores will close and none of the 229 employees will be laid off.
Established in 1930, PGG has more than 1,800 members.
