Body and Human Bones Found in Kittitas County
Detectives from the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office are investigating the discoveries of a body and a set of human bones last week.
According to a press release, a Grant County PUD employee found the body of an adult femmale Thursday morning on the West Short of the Columbia River, about 20 miles North of the Vantage Bridge.
Authorities recovered the body and believe it may have been in the water for 2 to 4 weeks.
An autopsy was performed yesterday and no obvious cause of death was observed.
Authorities will now be searching missing persons cases to help identify the subject.
In a separate case, a local resident found human bones last night along the Swauk Creek near the Hidden Valley Ranch.
Detectives are working the scene and interviewing residents in the area.
They say the initial examination has provided no obvious cause of death and has provided no evidence as to the identity.
