BREAKING: Sheriff's Office: Athena Bentley was the Driver; Was not Licensed
A representative with the Walla Walla Sheriff's office said 15-year-old Athena Bentley was the one driving the car involved in the fatal single rollover crash Sunday morning.
Bentley did not have a driver's license.
A representative with the Walla Walla Coroner's Office said three teenagers died of blunt force trauma to the head
Autopsies showed Bentley died of blunt force trauma to the head, neck and torso; the investigation shows she was not wearing a seatbelt.
16-year-old Uziel Bermoy died of blunt force trauma to the head; he was seating in the front passanger's seat with a seatbelt on.
17-year-old Aidan Boede died of blunt force trauma to the head; he was sitting in the backseat with no seatbelt on.
The sheriff's office confirms speed wasa factor in the accident.
All three teens were students at Walla Walla High School.
Investigators say the Dodge Neon was travelling westbound on Mill Creek Rd. when it hit a dirt embankment, overcorrected and rolled while crossing the eastbound lanes, then crashing through a barbed-wire fence and landing on its roof.
