Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
April 12 — April 12
This event is over.
There is an old saying: "You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes." Comprehensive Mental Health will be hosting their 7th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®: The Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence on Friday, April 12th. This march will ask men to literally walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes. It's not easy walking in these shoes, but it is fun and it gets the community to talk about something that's really difficult: gender relations and sexual violence. The Yakima Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy Program provides 24 hour crisis intervention, an advocate during medical and legal procedures, support groups and therapy as well as prevention education. Please join us is raising awareness in the Yakima Valley.
