The Richland Players continues its current season with Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap,” which runs January 17, 18, 24, 25, 26, 31, February 1, 2, 2014 at The Richland Players theatre 608 The Parkway, Richland, WA
The Mousetrap is the third production in The Players historic 69th anniversary season, and features local actors Samantha Weakley, Will Thurston, Heidi Dagle, Mark Miranda, Bill McMahon, Christopher Wilson, Cameron Rush, and Nadine Haglin. It is directed by Kristin Lerch.
The scene is set when a group of people are gathered in a country boarding house, cut off by a snowy blizzard. To their horror, it’s revealed that there is a murderer in their midst. One by one the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts. Who could it be? There’s the newly married couple played by Weakley and Thurston who run the guest house, and Mrs. Boyle the sour and critical spinster portrayed by Haglin. Also appearing is Rush as a flamboyant and emotional architecture student who seems better equipped to be a chef than an architect. McMahon brings a stalwart presence as Major Metcalf, a retired Army Major, and Dagle as Miss Casewell - a direct, modern woman who harbors many secrets. Completing this experienced ensemble is Wilson as Sargent Trotter, who arrives into their midst as a policeman traveling on skis with alarming news that someone in the house committed a murder in London, and may intend to kill more individuals. Is there a murderer among them?
