Mid-Columbia Libraries 65th Anniversary Celebration

May 1 — December 31
various times each day

Tri Cities, WA

Kennewick, WA – Mid-Columbia Libraries is gearing up to celebrate 65 years of successful service to Benton, Franklin, and Adams Counties with a video retrospective and event. MCL is seeking fond recollections, fun stories, and vintage and current photos from the community.
Interviews with area residents will be featured in the video, which tells the story of how Mid-Columbia Libraries started 65 years ago with a single bookmobile delivering books to rural county areas. In these farming communities, the library system provided one of the few opportunities for residents to explore the world through books. The bookmobile grew to include a branch library and expanded to the current system of 12 branches.
MCL invites you to share stories and photos through MCL’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages or contribute via email to comm@mcl-lib.org. Stories, photos, and comments may be used to commemorate the 65 years of MCL’s
service.
