Umatilla furnace shuts down

The last container of secondary waste to be processed through the Metal Parts Furnance at the Umatilla Chemical Agent Disposal Facility (UMCDF) enters the furnace last Friday (pictured).  Nearly 1.5 million pounds of secondary waste were produced through the furnace since the end of agent operations in late 2011.
