PROSSER -- Benton County Auditor Bobbie Gagner Announces she's retiring early.

Gagner has been with the county for 34 years, and she's been the auditor since 1987.

She said she wasn't planning to re run and retire next year.

But with her mother having health problems, she decided to push her plans up.

She said she's seen a lot of changes in her office, especially when it comes to technology, and most of all, she'll miss serving you.

"I just really like interacting with the public and waiting on them they have showed me so much respect and for a little gal from Prosser it just was something I didn't expect would ever happen" said Gagner.

Gagner's retirement is effective December 31st. A temporary auditor will be appointed, and a new auditor will be elected in November of 2010.
