KENNEWICK -- Tri-City community leaders and residents honor more than a hundred local veterans at Columbia Park today.
Speakers thanked the men and women of the military for their service and sacrifice to our country.
They also challenged civilian residents to show their support by writing letters to troops, donating blood and helping out at their local Red Cross.
"Their contributions are immeasurable and their service reminds us of the price that accompanies freedom. Namely, that freedom isn't free" said Representative Doc Hastings, (R) WA 4th District.
Representative Hastings says Veteran's Day is not only a day to reflect on sacrifice, but also a day to celebrate our nation's victories.
