KENNEWICK -- Cones and lights line the right-hand lane as you head north on Edison Street. But there are no signs of construction. Drivers are cutting each other off trying to make left turns or to head onto the highway.

    The city says the barriers were set up last week to repair a failed sewer main.

    "We felt it was necessary because we were having problems with heavy trucks going over that area that's failed," Kennewick's Utility Services Manager Bruce Beauchene said.

    Crews are also waiting on supplies they ordered. The city expects to fix the sewer main sometime next week.
